Audio Dedupe Music Manager $400 Giveaway – Organize Music Libraries, Remove Duplicate Songs and Find Similar Audio Files

Remove Duplicate Songs

Remove Duplicate Songs

MindGems Inc. is Giving Away 10 Licenses for Audio Dedupe PRO Music Manager Worth $400 – Remove Duplicate Songs and Organize Audio Libraries

Audio Dedupe will “Listen” to songs in order to find similar and duplicate audio files. The tool can find duplicate MP3 files and 18 other popular audio formats.

It will list all similar and duplicate songs grouped by similarity. Audio Dedupe can automatically select files with lower quality for deleting. There is a built-in audio player with continuous playback that can be used in order to quickly review the quality of the duplicate songs.

The main benefits of using this tool are:

  • Organize audio collections
  • Remove annoying duplicate files from your music library
  • Save valuable disk space by removing duplicates
  • Find similar songs and re mixes and group them together

Having duplicate audio files on mp3 players, iTunes, iPod, iPhone or iPad is not only annoying, but wastes valuable storage. While it may be easy to clean up few hundred files most people have huge collections and identifying and cleaning duplicates turns out not to be so easy. Audio Dedupe is an innovative tool that can recognize duplicate songs even if they are stored in different file formats. This is something that a standard duplicate file finder can not achieve. This is because if the same song is stored in different audio formats the file data is completely different even if it contains the same audio. Unlike the common duplicate file finders Audio Dedupe decodes the audio data and performs real audio analysis in order to identify similar and duplicate music inside an audio collection. There is a free demo available for download at www.mindgems.com, which you can use in order to evaluate the tool.

Audio Dedupe
supports the following audio file formats:

  • AAC Files (*.aac; *.mp4, *.m4a) – iTunes, iPod, iPhone Audio Files including Apple Lossles audio
  • AC3 Files (*.ac3)
  • Audio IFF Files (*.aif; *.aiff)
  • FLAC Files (*.flac)
  • MPEG Audio Files (*.mp3;*.mp2;*.mp1;*.mpa)
  • Musepack Files (*.mpc)
  • OGG Files (*.ogg)
  • WAVE Files (*.wav)
  • WavPack Files (*.wv)
  • Windows Media Audio Files (*.wma)

Find Duplicate APE (Monkey’s Audio) and TTA (True Audio) Files

Duplicate MP3 Finder

Duplicate MP3 Finder

The new 2.0.0.1 major release of Audio Dedupe is packed with plenty of new features.

Two new file formats are now added to the supported file formats:

APE – Monkey’s Audio

Monkey’s Audio is a file format for audio data compression. Being a lossless format, Monkey’s Audio does not discard data during the process of encoding, unlike lossy compression methods such as AAC, MP3, Vorbis and Musepack.
Data file compression is employed in order to reduce bandwidth, file transfer time, and/or storage requirements. A digital recording (such as a CD) encoded to the Monkey’s Audio format can be decompressed into an identical copy of the original audio data. As with the FLAC and Apple Lossless format, files encoded to Monkey’s Audio are typically reduced to about half of the original size,[1] with data transfer rates and bandwidth requirements being reduced accordingly.

TTA – True Audio

True Audio (abbreviated TTA) is a free, real-time lossless audio codec, based on adaptive prognostic filters. Also, .tta is the generic extension to filenames  of audio files created by True Audio codec.
TTA performs lossless compression on multichannel 8, 16 and 24 bit data of uncompressed wav  input files. The compression ratio of TTA depends on the type of music file being compressed, but after compression the size of output file will generally range between 30% – 70% of the original. TTA format supports both of ID3  v1 and ID3 v2 information tags. APEv2 tags support has been added recently.

Audio Dedup 1.8.0.1 is released packed with new features.

The option to automatically log-off, shutdown, hibernate or stand-by the system after scan is finished will let you leave large scans overnight. After Audio Dedupe completes its work the project will be autosaved in <My Documents>\AudioDedupe_AutoSave.adpf and you can check the results on the next morning.

A new option “Show user checked files in bold color” will let you easier distinguish the files that you have checked manually. If you are reviewing all the groups in the list manually it is handy also to track your progress.

One of the handy new features is the enhanced browse for folder dialog. You can now add multiple folders simultaneously. Just mark the folders that you would like to be scanned by ticking the check box near the folder name and click the OK button.

Find Duplicate MP3, MP2, MP1, MPA, WAV, OGG, AIFF, AAC, MP4, FLAC, AC3, WV, MPCWMA

Audio Dedupe Duplicate MP3 Finder 1.2.0.1 is released. Audio Dedupe besides finding duplicate mp3 files now supports also – AAC, MP4, FLAC, AC3, WavPack (WV), Musepack (MPC) and Windows Media Audio (WMA) file formats. It also adds support for FLAC, WMA and MP4 tags. AIF is now recognized AIFF extension. You can now quickly rename files using F2 or Rename popup menu (only in registered version). Project modified status in program caption is now updated correctly.

In addition to all the new format and fixes we have provided a new Audio Dedupe Corportate version that supports command line options and can output the results in a file.

Command-Line Parameters Usage: (Available only in Corporate Version)

AudioDedupe.exe -src_list <srclistfilename> -target_list <targetfilename> -log <logfilename> -s <similarity> -db <dbfilename> [-cachenames]

-src_list <srclistfilename> – specifies a plain text file which contains file names that you want to compare against <targetfilename> files
-target_list <targetfilename> – specifies a plain text file which contains file names that you want to compare against <srclistfilename> files

Note: If you omit -target_list parameter only -src_list files will be scanned

-log <logfilename> – specifies full path file name where the log from the comparison will be saved, e.g. c:\log.txt
-s <similarity> – specifies a similarity in percents. Example: -s 70
-db <dbfilename> – specifies the cache file name to be used or created.

-cachenames – if this option is specified, the program will store file names in cache instead of files checksum

Note: Cache files store audio files information gathered during the preprocessing pass (1st pass) of the scanning process. So if you often scan the same files, using cache file speeds up considerably the preprocessing pass.
You don’t need to create the cache file. Just specify it as a parameter and the program will create it. Or if the cache file from previous scan exists the program will use it. The cache files extension is ADCF (Audio Dedupe Cache File).

Example: AudioDedupe.exe -src_list “c:\src.txt” -target_list “c:\target.txt” -log “c:\log.txt” -s 70 -db “c:\db.adcf”

This will find all audio files with similarity >= 70% and save their file names and similarity in c:\log.txt file

Note: If some of the parameters contain spaces, you must enclose them in double quotes. Example: -src_list “c:\program files\files.txt”

Sample src.txt and target.txt file contents:

C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (3).mp3
C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (3).mpc
C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (4).mp3
C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (4).ogg
C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (5).mp3
C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (6).mp3
C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (7).mp3

Sample log.txt file contents:

* DUPLICATES OF * : C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (3).mp3
*** DUPLICATE 1 (SIMILARITY 98) *** : C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (3).mpc
* DUPLICATES OF * : C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (4).mp3
*** DUPLICATE 1 (SIMILARITY 95) *** : C:\My Documents\MP3\Track (4).ogg
